February 5th is Hank Aaron Day!!!

February 5th is Hank Aaron Day!!!

What can I say about "Hammerin Hank"!!! He was not only an amazing baseball player, but a true inspiration as a man for all people, especially black men. Hank is most famous for being the first person to break Babe Ruth's Home run record. This accomplishment was absolutely amazing, but it brought him a lot of hate because he was a black man. The white idiots of this country, never wanted anyone to break his record and they definitely didn't want a black man to do it. So, with his extreme joy from an amazing historic feat that he achieved, came darkness and hate as well. Very sad and very maddening that he had to deal with this and just showed that no matter how amazing and great the things black men were doing, that still was not enough to even help change perception of the ignorant. Over time people have learned more and the sports world has made some great improvements, but it would have never happened if people like Hank didn't stand tall and no matter what anyone said he continued to do what he loved and played how he knew he could play. Thank you Mr. Aaron for all of your contributions and inspiration! Please click the link below and learn more about Hank Aaron. :-)

"I never doubted my ability, but when you hear all your life you're inferior, it makes you wonder if the other guys have something you've never seen before. If they do, I'm still looking for it." - Hank Aaron
