February 10th is Leontyne Price Day!!!I am sure most people have no idea who Leontyne Price is and honestly I didn't either until a few days ago, but to the music and opera world she is legendary. She is an amazing soprano singer! She grew up in the deep south and went through obstacles to become the singer she became. She started off on Broadway and moved her way to opera where she really excelled and became one of the first African-Americans to be a leading artist at the Metropolitan Opera. After retiring from opera performing she has done many recordings, shows, and tours. She is another example of someone with beautiful talent that no matter what pushed for her chance to showcase it and ended up being one of the best!
