February 20th is Sidney Poitier Day!!!Mr. Poitier is such an inspiration, it is hard to even express how much he has done and and accomplished in his life. I absolutely love his movies and he is an incredible actor and person. He was the first African-American to win an Academy Award for Best Actor and he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009. Mr. Poitier is a true fighter for civil rights and even though Hollywood to this day is still racist and ignorant, the people that are in the industry today can attribute this to Mr. Poitier for all he had to go through and how well he did it and achieved an amazing level of passion.
