April 9th is Nathan Hare Day!!! Nathan Hare is known as the "Father of Black Studies". He was the first to be hired by an University or College to teach a Black Studies program in the United States by San Francisco State College (Now San Francisco State University). He also he co-founded the Black Think Tank with his wife in 1979. The Black Think Tank addresses the problems and concerns that plague the African-American community. He has written several books and won many prestigious awards as well for all of his work including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame.
