April 25th is Ella Fitzgerald Day!!!
"The First Lady of Song" is celebrated today for all of her wonderful songs and her amazing soulfulness! If you have not heard her voice or her songs you definitely need to take the time today to listen! She is one of the most influential jazz singers of all time and worked with many of the other greats as well including Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, and Dizzy Gillespie. She was also had to deal with a lot discrimination and did a lot to help and promote the Civil Rights Movement. This lady was just amazing!
