January 5th is Matilda Sissieretta Joyner Jones Day!!!Matilda Sissieretta Joyner Jones was a soprano opera singer. She was the first African-American to sing at Carnegie Hall and she sang for 5 Presidents. She was super talented, but obviously because of racism and prejudice even with her success she did not get what she deserved in pay and recognition.
