
Dr. Mamie Phipps Clark was a psychologist that studied the effects of segregation and racism on the self-esteem of black children. Below are some of her greatest accomplishments:
*The Clark Doll Test - one of the most well-known psychological tests for children and has been replicated and influenced many modern tests.
*Research on race, self-concept, self-esteem, and child development
*Her work with her husband, Kenneth Clark, played an important role in the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education case
*She was the first black woman to earn a degree at Columbia University
